Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien and Reed Exhibitions Messe Salzburg are market leaders in the organisation of trade fairs and exhibitions in Austria. Both subsidiaries belong to the world's largest enterprise within the segment, Reed Exhibitions based in London. Every year Reed Exhibitions organises around 40 trade fairs and publicly open exhibitions in Austria. They provide the market with leading shows in 40 sectors, very many of which benefit from a high proportion of international guests. Over 8,100 domestic and foreign companies exhibit at events organised by Reed Exhibitions Messe in Vienna and Salzburg, attracting an annual average visitor contact count of 640,000. The Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center, inaugurated at the start of 2004, offers sophisticated and versatile facilities. The halls, furnishings and equipment, and architecture assure maximum functionality and an ideal atmosphere. It consists of five separate buildings with different functions. All are close to each other and linked by covered walkways. The center has 46,000 m2 of gross exhibition space in three exhibition halls (Halls A, B and C), as well as Hall D — a 9,000 sqm multi-purpose facility which is also equipped for entertainment events. A 450-metre mall connects the four halls, the Congress Center and the foyers A and D. The majority of the five function areas can be divided up and combined according to need.
