CUSTOMBIKE

CUSTOMBIKE: the trade show

Winston Yeh from Taiwan, winner of the International Custom Bike Championship Germany, argues: “In Asia, everyone says that if you want to accomplish something over in Europe, you have to go to the CUSTOMBIKE-SHOW in Germany. It's the most important fair for our scene. Now, I have to admit they're right and I'm happy I've been here.”And Arno Kruth from Toxic Bikes is just as happy – and he should. After all, he won the EUROPEAN BIKER BUILD-OFF 2014. When the American team around Bill Dodge cancelled their participation less than two weeks before the show due to customs problems, Toxic Bikes stepped in without hesitation, surprising everyone with a great performance and outdoing Spaniard Sergio Bayarri from Sbay Motors. During the three fair days, both teams each built a spectacular custom bike in front of the audience's close eye. In the end, the Spanish team ran out of time and luck, detecting they had forgotten to pack one small part they would have needed to finish their bike. This left their futuristic V2 racer unridable. But either way, the team from North Germany won the audience's favor with their old-school Harley by a surprisingly large advance. For the International Custom Bike Championship Germany (ICCG) participants, the CUSTOMBIKE-SHOW is touchstone and platform at the same time. Winning one of the 17 categories is akin to an accolade. This year's winners, hence, belong to the highest rank in motorcycle building. The winners:
