LuxePack New York: guaranteeing valuable business development for all participants

LuxePack New York organizers are already working on the next edition of the show, to be held on May 2017 (11-12), so we have been talking them about the last experience and how they deal with what will be the 15th edition of Luxe Pack in New York.

LuxePack New York is the largest trade show in the USA for creative design packaging. What do you think that makes it stand out from other similar shows?

LUXE PACK New York’s show management team strategically grows the show organically. All the manufacturers and suppliers that exhibit at the show go through a selection process. It is quite important that the calibre of exhibitors stay top notch. We hosted over 240 of the most successful packaging manufacturers and suppliers in the cosmetics, fragrance, wine & spirits, fine foods industries in our 2016 show. Also, we have a great attendance outreach program to guarantee high calibre audience as well. Over 90% of our attendees are executives from Brands such as L’Oréal, Estee Lauder, PepsiCo, Crayola, Sephora, LVMH, Brown-Forman, just to name a few. Ultimately, LUXE PACK develops a very high-quality show on both ends, guaranteeing valuable business development for all participants (exhibitors and attendees).

The last edition has a record-breaking attendance, what is the visitor's profile, can anyone attend the show?

Yes. We are thrilled to have had our most successful show yet with over 3800 attendees! The show is open to all packaging professionals. Over 90% of our attendees are executives (CEOs, Creative Directors, Directors of Marketing, Head of Sales, Operation Managers, Buyers, Vice Presidents, and Founders, from Brands such as L’Oréal, Estee Lauder, PepsiCo, Crayola, Sephora, LVMH, Brown-Forman, just to name a few). Ultimately, LUXE PACK develops a very high-quality show on both ends, guaranteeing valuable business development for all participants (exhibitors and attendees).

Now you've started to work on the following edition, what info can you advance about LuxePack NY 2017? What is going to be the highlights?

We have just started the development phase of the LPNY 2017 edition. The 17th annual show will take place on May 10-11, 2017 at Pier 92. The In Green Award Ceremony, the annual LUXE PACK competition that honours 2 exhibitors who have developed the most sustainable packaging product/solution and the most sustainable internal company initiative is always a show highlight. Additional details will be available in late September.

On the last May show, one of the novelties was the newly formatted conference program, are you going to work on the same line? Do you already have some confirmation from the experts that will participate in it?

Yes. We had great success with the Masterclass Sessions in May. It allowed for valuable networking between all realms of packaging experts. We plan to bring back the Masterclass format again for 2017. We are currently developing the 2017 conference program and will announce a few of the confirmed speakers in September 2016 via press release.

What do you think are the coming trends in the packaging market? New materials, new techniques...?

Sustainability within packaging development will continue to stay in the show’s forefront. Specifically, bioplastics seem to be a relative topic under this umbrella. Also, niche brands are growing and gaining quite a bit of visibility which LPNY plans to extend the show’s outreach to. Also, future packaging for the millennials will be a topic we plan to cover. This growing consumer group will eventually navigate the direction of retail and we want to provide our attendee's insight into what the millennial generation will look for in packaging.


Can you give some tips for those exhibiting in LuxePack New York for the first time? (venue rules, business etiquette, customs...)

It is a bit early to announce exhibitors. We have just started accepting applications in late July. The event will take place at Pier 92 in 2017. It is a business event that is developed for high-level corporate networking but we create a setting that is intimate and friendly. For 2016, we had the LUXE PACK Mingle for the first time. This was a cocktail hour that allowed all participants to network over a glass of champagne and music. It is important that we also provide a bit of fun factor into the show.

What brings LuxePack to the city of New York (talking on economic terms)?

In addition to the other LUXE PACK Shows in Monaco and Shanghai, we wanted to offer a comparable US-based show. We wanted to offer the brands based out of the US the opportunity to meet with the best of packaging manufacturers and suppliers to facilitate their business development. NYC is home to many of the largest brands in the cosmetics and fragrance industries and therefore it made sense to bring LUXE PACK to New York.

Finally, there are still many months ahead but, do you have any participation forecast for 2017's edition?

It is a bit early to tell. We will have additional show details in early fall 2016.
