Latin Auto Parts Expo: a complete exhibition for the industry that opens its doors again in July, at Atlapa

If you are a motor lover, we have good news for you, Latin Auto Parts Expo returns to ATLAPA (Panama) on July 19-21. And if you can't wait we bring you a preview of what you will find on the show floor. We have interviewed the organizers of the show, so don't miss a detail!

Tendencies like tuning can be very original and volatile too. What is the current situation?

Correct. Tuning can be original as it allows for car owners to customize the characteristics of their vehicles. Car owners may choose to tune their cars in a variety of ways, by enhancing a vehicle’s fuel economy, increasing engine power or simply by modifying its exterior appearance. The controversy comes as tuning parts can potentially damage a car.

The tuning industry has been booming in Latin America. There is great potential for product expansion for tuning manufacturers in this region. For example, in El Salvador studies have shown an increased interest in tuning accessories and parts, specifically bumpers, splitters and spoilers. There are no local manufacturers of these products in this country. Therefore, foreign brands are currently in high demand by Salvadoran distributors and importers who are seeking innovative, durable and high-quality tuning parts.

There are many events dedicated to the motoring industry… Give us some characteristics that make your event different

The LATIN AUTO PARTS EXPO is a well-rounded and comprehensive exhibition open to all auto part manufacturers. By participating in the show, exhibitors have the unique opportunity to showcase all varieties of automotive parts to vetted, qualified buyers from Latin America and the Caribbean, creating and growing the distribution of their products in the region.

In addition, the United States Department of Commerce has granted Trade Fair Certification to the LATIN AUTO PARTS EXPO for the third consecutive year. The LATIN AUTO PARTS EXPO is the only auto parts exhibition in Latin America to receive this distinction. The Department of Commerce recommends the event as “an excellent opportunity to present American products and services” and allows the Expo to organize a pavilion for American companies.

The US Department of Commerce will be on-site during the exhibition (Booth #C301) as a resource to U.S. companies seeking market intelligence and in-depth information about exporting their products abroad.

Has the event any activity or conference to increase the exhibitor’s knowledge?

Yes. The LATIN AUTO PARTS EXPO will host its Educational Conferences on July 20th, the second day of the show. The Educational Conferences feature industry leaders who will discuss and reflect upon various topics prevalent in the auto parts industry. Topics being presented during this year’s Educational Conferences include: “Oxygen Sensors Diagnostic and Vehicle Emissions”, “Heavy Duty & Industrial Specialty Lubricants & Fluids”, and the “Value of a Brand”, to name a few. A Question & Answer session will directly follow the Conference presentations.

What are the novelties of Latin Auto Parts 2017?

In addition to the Educational Conferences, the LATIN AUTO PARTS EXPO hosts an inaugural on the first day of the show, warmly welcoming exhibitors and visitors to the beautiful country of Panama. The ceremony consists of a ribbon-cutting and a live musical performance by the Sociedad Anonima Orchestra.

This year, the LATIN AUTO PARTS EXPO has added a New Product Showcase, which will be located on the 2nd floor of the ATLAPA Convention Center throughout the show (July 19 – July 21). The New Product Showcase will allow exhibitors the opportunity to display their companies’ recently developed and innovative products to prospective buyers.

In your opinion, what’s necessary to have success as an exhibitor?

Exhibitors should prepare for a successful exhibition by maximizing their company’s presence pre, during and post-show. Advertising and sponsorship opportunities allow for exhibitors to distinguish their brands among competitors.

Strategic social media marketing is also important in engaging show attendees and driving potential clients to their companies’ booths.

On the same line, Latin Auto Parts it’s a great opportunity to do business…could you give us some advice about business etiquette in Panama?

Business in Panama is a unique blend of Western and Latin customs. The official language of the country is Spanish and the official currency is the Balboa. However, English is broadly understood/spoken by residents and US Dollars are accepted. Business practices & etiquette tend to be direct and straight-forward. The exchange of business cards and shaking of hands are expected for first-time greetings.

Why Panama it’s the best choice to organize a business meeting?

With its Duty-Free Zone, Panama is a strategic location for the Expo. Panama is an international air and ocean hub enabling travellers and cargo to reach Latin America, the Caribbean and most of the globe.

The country also benefits from a stable democratic government that is business friendly and counts with a strong currency.
