The Public Establishment for Damascus International Fair was founded in1955 by President's Act.
Its name and tasks were amended by the legislative decree dated in 2001, when it assumed its current name "Damascus International Fairground" and the responsibilities of organizing and holding quality fairs and exhibitions, national and international inside the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as the coordination of Syrian presence abroad.
