The Royal Hospital Chelsea was originally a home for old soldiers and still serves that purpose. It also has spaces available for meetings and events within this oasis in the heart of London by Thames river.  The Royal Hospital Chelsea offers different facilities: the state apartments, the great hall, the Chapel and the South Grounds and Ranelagh Gardens. The halls are suitable for different kind of events. The Royal Hospital Chelsea is a unique venue to host high quality events in London. State Apartments consist of two main rooms, the Council Chamber and an Ante-Room. This hall is ideal for receptions, dinners, lectures, book launches, films and photographs. It has capacity for up to 180 people standing. The Great Hall has an impressive mural of Charles 11 and hung portraits of every monarch since then. It is available for hire in the evenings only from about 6.30pm and includes the use of the kitchens. This room is suitable for receptions and banquets with capacity for 400 people standing.  The Chapel is a hall that is available for concerts and recitals and can also be hired for certain weddings. The Chapel can host events for 380 people sited. Facilities and services are tailored to individual requirements. The South Grounds and Ranelagh Gardens were redesigned by the eminent landscaper John Gibson in 1860 and can host Marquees and Garden Parties throughout the year.  Royal Hospital Chelsea´ s flexibility and personal service is the key to the smooth running of events and activities.
