IMCAS Asia 2017 returns to Bali to show the latest trends in the aesthetic surgery market

IMCAS Asia returns to Bali to bring together expert physicians and leading professionals in the medical aesthetic. If you are going to exhibit or attend the show on July 21-23, don't miss our interview with the organizers and discover the novelties and activities we will enjoy on the showground.

Every day more people decide to turn to plastic surgery. What are the future expectations and the consumer’s profile?

We’re seeing increasing interest in non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures, such as treatments to smooth fine lines and laser hair removal. These treatments have a shorter recovery time, are becoming increasingly available and the taboo around having such treatments is decreasing all the time.

We’re also seeing younger patients. They are aware that they can start rejuvenation procedures earlier in life with milder, less expensive treatments that can significantly delay the signs of ageing by restoring the structure and function of the skin.

What are the latest trends of dermatology we will find at IMCAS Asia?

You’ll find talks on using the latest technology, whether lasers, botulinum toxin, fillers or platelet-rich plasma.

What novelties have you prepared for this 2017 edition?

We are introducing “target courses” which are more intimate sessions on a specific topic with greater opportunity for discussion, as well as “product analysis” sessions, which allow attendees to have a clear non-commercial update on the latest products and devices currently available on the market.

Could you recommend us some workshop or conference?

The scientific program includes IMCAS’s highly regarded Anatomy on Cadaver Workshop, a favourite among loyal attendees and newcomers alike, with a full afternoon of sessions exploring the anatomy behind each part of the face and body, to ensure the best results during treatments.

Attendees can also enjoy a whole day dedicated to aesthetic surgery with IMCAS’s One-Day Surgery: France-Asia module. The objective of the day is to uncover and analyze the differences in cultural expectations, patient analysis and techniques in France, representing the European approach, compared to various Asian countries. In each session, attendees will learn about the different perspectives of experts from both regions, enabling them to better tailor their surgical practice to their patients.

For those more interested in non-surgical approaches, there will also be a full module dedicated to lasers, covering their use for specific skin conditions and providing practical tips via live demonstrations.

Why do you organize it again in Bali after two years?

IMCAS Asia travels around the region every year and has so far held congresses in Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei and, of course, Bali. Our 2015 congress in Bali was a resounding success. Indonesia has an important medical population with a high number of qualified dermatologists and plastic surgeons, so it was a natural choice for us and a destination that we will keep returning to in order that our congresses become increasingly established and well known for their top-quality teaching.

What are the advantages of exhibiting at IMCAS Asia

IMCAS Asia is a great way to reach out to attendees and companies from the Asia region. At the last Bali event in 2015, 85% of the attendees came from Asia, giving the exhibiting companies the opportunity to take a regional approach in launching or introducing their brand as well as promoting their existing products and techniques.

Furthermore, as 54% (27 out of 50), of the confirmed exhibiting companies, came from Asia, there was also a fantastic opportunity to network or to locate local distributors, for example.

Looking to this year’s congress, we already have 52 companies from Asia listed in our sponsor list, so we will again be able to provide this unique networking opportunity.

Lastly, could you give us some participation results of the last edition?

Our last edition in Bali in 2015 broke previous IMCAS Asia participation levels, with over 1,300 attendees. Last year, in Taipei, it increased further with a new record of over 1,400 attendees. This year, we anticipate yet further growth and forecast 2,000 attendees at IMCAS Asia.
