This year, Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition will celebrate its 20th anniversary and over those years it has become the major lighting exhibition in Asia. As a part of Messe Frankfurt, Canton's exhibition is a must-attend event for all the professionals related to the lighting industry. Messe Frankfurt HK Ltd has granted us an interview to explain all the novelties for this special edition which take place in June.

Novelties of the next edition

Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, under Messe Frankfurt’s Light+Building worldwide family of fairs, will be held from 9 to 12 June in 2015.

The 2015 fair marks the 20th anniversary of fair, with the slogan “20th Onwards, Inspire and be inspired”, which represents the fair’s commitment to stay at the forefont of the industry. 2015 Show theme will be “Explore Lighting for Life”, emphasising 4 major industry trends, including, “Quality of Light”, “Human-centric Lighting”, “Sustainability”, and “Wireless connectivity”. “LED Asia Zone” , new souring zones covering 3 mega halls of LED components and equipment are established to accommodate soaring demand across the globe.

What are the main novelties that will we find in the next edition?

Fair participants will not want to miss the multifaceted programme of events. Over 100 thought-provoking industry seminars, categorised by three tracks (technology, market and design), target to spark deep conversations on the possibilities of lighting and stimulate progressive innovation.

The central theme of GILE 2016 is “THINK LIGHT: A new dimension” encourages out-of-the-box thinking in the industry. Expert lectures will discuss future-oriented, intelligent technologies that revolve around digitalisation, networking and the latest design trends.

• In 2015, 2,698 brands from 27 countries and regions exhibited across 21 halls spanning over 225,000 sqm of space.
• Also in attendance were 135,990 professional visitors from 131 countries and regions.
